# Trade Chart jobs

Each section below walks through one job with the tools of the `trade-chart` MCP server. The same recipes are MCP prompts (prompts/list) on `https://api.openkrill.app/gateway/mcp`.
Connect the server at `https://chart.openkrill.app/mcp` in your MCP client settings (remote streamable HTTP, no key), then call its tools as normal tool calls. They are not command line programs: Bash, curl and scripts cannot reach them.

## Price chart

Job: Price chart, with the Trade Chart MCP server.

Use the `chart` tool for this job.

Work on the user's request. If there is none yet, ask what they need. A request this job handles: "Show a daily candlestick chart of AAPL with the 20-day SMA and RSI."

Steps:
1. Call `chart` as a normal MCP tool call, with the request's values in the fields of its inputSchema. It needs `symbol`.
2. If a value the tool needs is missing and you cannot tell it from the request, ask the user one short question first.
3. This input is known to work; copy its format, not its values: `{"symbol":"AAPL","timeframe":"1d"}`
4. For the request "Show a daily candlestick chart of AAPL with the 20-day SMA and RSI.", a correct answer looks like this: status ok, a candlestick HTML page that names Vela, the last close, SMA and RSI values, the Yahoo Finance source, an asOf time and the not-financial-advice notice.
5. Follow the server's own rules:
   - Use the chart tool to show a candlestick price chart.
   - Pass symbol, and timeframe and indicators when the user names them.
   - Defaults are 1d, sma and rsi, dark.
   - An inline card shows the symbol, timeframe, last close, change and indicator readings, with a link to openUrl; do not repeat those numbers.
   - Add the source, the asOf time and the notice.
   - The html is the full chart page; pass it on unchanged or give the openUrl, and never rewrite it.
   - This is informational only and not financial advice.
   - Never say an indicator means buy, sell, overbought, oversold, bullish or bearish, never predict a price, and never suggest a trade or an order.
   - If asked to buy, sell or connect a broker, say the plugin only draws a chart of public prices.
   - If status is not ok, read error.hint and follow it instead of repeating the call.
   - An unknown or misspelled symbol returns no_data.
   - Volume is always on the candle chart; do not ask for a separate volume tool.
6. If the call fails or the answer looks wrong, tell the user, then report it with `submit_feedback` (kind bug, tool `chart`).
