# Belief Poll

Turn one question into belief percentages from X posts and Reddit comments, each percent linked to its posts. It is free, with no sign-up and no key.

Also known as: Opinion Poll, Public Opinion Check.

## What it does

Ask one question and get the share of people who hold each answer, with every percent tied to the public posts behind it.

Belief Poll asks Grok to search X, in two halves of the window, and to find a Reddit thread on the question. It then reads each X post back through X's public embed endpoint and the Reddit comments from the thread's public feed, so a post that does not exist, or that Grok misquoted, never counts. Every quote in the answer is the source's own text.

Grok names the 1 to 5 answers the posts actually take and sorts each post into one, or into no view, quoting the post's words that state its view. A vote whose words are not in the post is dropped. Each author counts once per source, so one loud poster cannot tilt the result.

Each answer comes with its percent, a 95% range, the count and the percent on X and on Reddit alone, the main reason people give, and up to 10 linked posts with the words each vote rests on. The answer says when X and Reddit lead with different answers, and gives each source's post dates. Percents are shown only when at least 5 people were counted, and a poll under 20 people is marked thin.

It is a count of public posts, not a survey: people who post are not everyone. No key, no account, nothing stored about you. A poll is cached for 12 hours.

- Turns one question into belief percentages from public X posts and Reddit comments
- Links every percent to the posts behind it, with the source's own text
- Checks every X post through X's public embed endpoint, so no made-up post counts
- Counts one vote per author per source and gives a 95% range for each share
- Shows each vote's own words, and drops a vote whose words are not in the post
- Says when a poll is thin, a lead is not clear, the sources disagree, or a source was skipped

## Who it is for

Anyone who asks an AI assistant a question like this one: “What do people believe about whether a standing desk is worth it?”

## Price

Belief Poll is free to use. There is no sign-up, no account and no API key. Calls are limited to 60 calls a minute per network and 5000 calls a day per server, shared by all callers. Repeat questions are answered from a cache.

## Tools it offers

- `poll_beliefs`: Poll what people believe

## Connect

The MCP server is `https://belief.openkrill.app/mcp` (streamable HTTP). It needs no key.

Claude Code, in one command:

```
claude mcp add --transport http belief https://belief.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Hermes Agent, in one command that answers its two setup questions (no key, enable all tools):

```
printf 'n\ny\n' | hermes mcp add belief --url https://belief.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Or add these lines to `~/.hermes/config.yaml`, under an existing `mcp_servers:` key if the file has one. Start a new Hermes session after either step.

```
mcp_servers:
  belief:
    url: https://belief.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Any other agent: give it this page's Markdown address, `https://tools.openkrill.app/tools/belief.md`, and ask it to connect Belief Poll.

Paste the address into your assistant once: the [connect steps](https://tools.openkrill.app/#connect) cover Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and the [install guides](https://tools.openkrill.app/integrations) show the same steps for each client.

## Job recipes for agents

Step-by-step recipes that walk an agent through a job with this server's tools:

- Poll what people believe, with `poll_beliefs`

[Download the recipes as SKILL.md](https://tools.openkrill.app/skills/belief-jobs/SKILL.md). Save it as `belief-jobs/SKILL.md` in your agent's skills folder. A connected MCP client gets the same recipes from `prompts/list` on this server.

It is listed under Research and public facts in the [full tool list](https://tools.openkrill.app/tools). The same facts in plain text are in [llms.txt](https://tools.openkrill.app/llms.txt).
