# CertPacket

Find the CPSC rules and certificate a product needs, accepted labs in Vietnam and China, and gaps in a lab report. It is free, with no sign-up and no key.

## What it does

CertPacket helps a small importer get the US safety certificate for a consumer product ready before the goods ship.

find_cert_rules names the CPSC rules for a product and the certificate it needs: a Children's Product Certificate (CPC) for products made for children 12 and under, or a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC). Each rule comes with its 16 CFR citation and whether a CPSC-accepted lab must test it. It covers the 16 most common children's product types and 3 general ones.

find_accepted_labs reads the live CPSC list and shortlists labs accepted for every test the product needs, in Vietnam and China first or any other country.

check_lab_report reads a lab report PDF and scores the gaps a reviewer would find: a missing rule, a failed result, a lab that is not accepted for a test, an old standard edition, wrong or missing dates. It drafts the values for the CPSC eFiling certificate fields.

match_recalls finds recalls of similar products in the US, Canada and the EU, and watch_recalls reports new ones once a day.

Every answer is decision support only. Confirm with your lab or customs broker before filing.

- Names the CPSC rules and the certificate type (CPC or GCC) for a product
- Shortlists CPSC-accepted labs for the exact tests, Vietnam and China first
- Scores a lab report for missing rules, failed results, lab acceptance and date gaps
- Drafts the CPSC eFiling certificate fields from a report
- Finds and watches recalls of similar products in the US, Canada and the EU

## Connect

The MCP server is `https://certpacket.openkrill.app/mcp` (streamable HTTP). It needs no key.

Claude Code, in one command:

```
claude mcp add --transport http certpacket https://certpacket.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Hermes Agent, in one command that answers its two setup questions (no key, enable all tools):

```
printf 'n\ny\n' | hermes mcp add certpacket --url https://certpacket.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Or add these lines to `~/.hermes/config.yaml`, under an existing `mcp_servers:` key if the file has one. Start a new Hermes session after either step.

```
mcp_servers:
  certpacket:
    url: https://certpacket.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Any other agent: give it this page's Markdown address, `https://tools.openkrill.app/tools/certpacket.md`, and ask it to connect CertPacket.

Paste the address into your assistant once: the [connect steps](https://tools.openkrill.app/#connect) cover Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and the [install guides](https://tools.openkrill.app/integrations) show the same steps for each client.

## Job recipes for agents

Step-by-step recipes that walk an agent through 3 jobs with this server's tools:

- Find the safety rules and certificate, with `find_cert_rules`
- Find CPSC-accepted labs, with `find_accepted_labs`
- Check a lab report, with `check_lab_report`

[Download the recipes as SKILL.md](https://tools.openkrill.app/skills/certpacket-jobs/SKILL.md). Save it as `certpacket-jobs/SKILL.md` in your agent's skills folder. A connected MCP client gets the same recipes from `prompts/list` on this server.

It is listed under Shops and sellers in the [full tool list](https://tools.openkrill.app/tools). The same facts in plain text are in [llms.txt](https://tools.openkrill.app/llms.txt).
