# Trade Chart

Draw a candlestick chart of a ticker with the indicators you name. It is free, with no sign-up and no key.

## What it does

Shows a candlestick price chart for a public ticker, with volume and the indicators you name, plus a short plain-language read of what is on the chart.

Ask "chart AAPL daily with the 20-day SMA and RSI", "show BTC-US dollars on the 1 hour chart with Bollinger Bands" or "weekly euro-dollar with MACD".

It reads public prices: Yahoo Finance chart data for stocks, funds, currencies and crypto, Coinbase public candles when a crypto pair is missing there, and the European Central Bank's daily reference rates (the same source as Market Indicators, through Frankfurter) when a currency pair has no candle series. No key is required.

The chart is an interactive HTML page rendered by Vela 0.8.0 (Apache-2.0, LuxAlgo). Vela's own attribution mark stays on the chart, and the page also names Vela. PineTS is not used: the studies are Vela's native indicators, and the read uses the same standard formulas so the words match the lines.

It reports the last close, the change from the previous close, and the latest indicator values. It does not say whether to buy or sell, and it has no orders, broker, wallet or backtest.

Nothing about you is stored. The only lasting record is a daily count of calls. A hard cap of 800 calls a UTC day, and the per-network rate limit, keep the free data reads bounded.

- Draws a candlestick price chart with volume for a public ticker
- Adds SMA, EMA, RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, ATR, stochastic or VWAP
- Returns a self-contained interactive HTML chart, dark or light
- Gives a plain-language read of the last price and the indicator values
- Reads Yahoo Finance, Coinbase or ECB reference rates, with no key
- Names the source, the as-of time and Vela on every chart
- Places no orders and gives no buy or sell signal

## Who it is for

Anyone who asks an AI assistant a question like this one: “Show a daily candlestick chart of AAPL with the 20-day SMA.”

## Price

Trade Chart is free to use. There is no sign-up, no account and no API key. Calls are limited to 60 calls a minute per network and 5000 calls a day per server, shared by all callers. Repeat questions are answered from a cache.

## Tools it offers

## Connect

The MCP server is `https://chart.openkrill.app/mcp` (streamable HTTP). It needs no key.

Claude Code, in one command:

```
claude mcp add --transport http trade-chart https://chart.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Hermes Agent, in one command that answers its two setup questions (no key, enable all tools):

```
printf 'n\ny\n' | hermes mcp add trade-chart --url https://chart.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Or add these lines to `~/.hermes/config.yaml`, under an existing `mcp_servers:` key if the file has one. Start a new Hermes session after either step.

```
mcp_servers:
  trade-chart:
    url: https://chart.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Any other agent: give it this page's Markdown address, `https://tools.openkrill.app/tools/trade-chart.md`, and ask it to connect Trade Chart.

Paste the address into your assistant once: the [connect steps](https://tools.openkrill.app/#connect) cover Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and the [install guides](https://tools.openkrill.app/integrations) show the same steps for each client.

## Job recipes for agents

Step-by-step recipes that walk an agent through a job with this server's tools:

- Price chart, with `chart`

[Download the recipes as SKILL.md](https://tools.openkrill.app/skills/trade-chart-jobs/SKILL.md). Save it as `trade-chart-jobs/SKILL.md` in your agent's skills folder. A connected MCP client gets the same recipes from `prompts/list` on the gateway, `https://api.openkrill.app/gateway/mcp`.

It is listed under Market numbers in the [full tool list](https://tools.openkrill.app/tools). The same facts in plain text are in [llms.txt](https://tools.openkrill.app/llms.txt).
