# Tu Vi Chart

Cast a Tu Vi (Zi Wei Dou Shu) birth chart from a birth date and time, with readings that cite the classic. It is free, with no sign-up and no key.

Also known as: Zi Wei Dou Shu Chart, La so Tu Vi, 紫微斗数命盘.

## What it does

Tu Vi Chart casts a Tu Vi (Zi Wei Dou Shu, 紫微斗数) birth chart from a solar birth date, a clock time and a gender, and returns it as JSON in Vietnamese and Chinese.

The lunar date comes from our own calendar code, built from the published Chinese calendar standard (GB/T 33661-2017) and astronomical new moons and solar terms. It matches every day of the Hong Kong Observatory tables from 1921 to 2100, and computes the Vietnamese calendar in UTC+7 from 1968. Leap months and 23:00 births follow a stated rule you can change.

The chart has the 12 palaces with their stems and branches, the 14 main stars, 14 minor stars, the four transformations of the year, the life and body lords, the bureau and the 10-year periods.

For births from 1950 to 2026 it adds readings on 13 topics, from the open Zi Wei Dou Shu interpretation dataset by 王多鱼AI (CC BY 4.0): a one-line verdict, the summary and citations to the Ming classic 紫微斗数全书, with Vietnamese translations. The result says whether the dataset's chart for the birth matches this chart exactly.

Free, complete and nothing is stored. Tu Vi is a cultural tradition; the readings are for study, not prediction.

- Converts a solar birth date to the Vietnamese or Chinese lunar date, leap months included
- Places the 14 main stars, 14 minor stars and the four transformations in the 12 palaces
- Gives the bureau, life and body lords and the 10-year periods
- Adds cited readings on 13 topics for births from 1950 to 2026, in Vietnamese and Chinese

## Connect

The MCP server is `https://tuvi.openkrill.app/mcp` (streamable HTTP). It needs no key.

Claude Code, in one command:

```
claude mcp add --transport http tuvi https://tuvi.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Hermes Agent, in one command that answers its two setup questions (no key, enable all tools):

```
printf 'n\ny\n' | hermes mcp add tuvi --url https://tuvi.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Or add these lines to `~/.hermes/config.yaml`, under an existing `mcp_servers:` key if the file has one. Start a new Hermes session after either step.

```
mcp_servers:
  tuvi:
    url: https://tuvi.openkrill.app/mcp
```

Any other agent: give it this page's Markdown address, `https://tools.openkrill.app/tools/tuvi.md`, and ask it to connect Tu Vi Chart.

Paste the address into your assistant once: the [connect steps](https://tools.openkrill.app/#connect) cover Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and the [install guides](https://tools.openkrill.app/integrations) show the same steps for each client.
