Oddwatch: a software foreman for teams of up to 10 engineers

Wake up to what looks odd in production.

What the morning note looks like

A real excerpt from our own watch, which runs on our live tools every day.

From Oddwatch

To your team

Subject 3 things look odd on 9 Oct

Each line is one thing we count, compared with its own last 28 days. Our digest flagged 138 lines that day; these 3 show the kinds of thing a note picks out.

  1. 1 workers-errors

    agent-tools-api responseStreamDisconnected

    Day 23 Usual 0

23 responses from our main API were cut off mid-stream, against none on a usual day. A client timeout and a slow upstream are the first two things to check.

  2. 2 journal-errors

    foreman-vector: data_dir "/var/lib/agent-tools-foreman/vector" does not exist

    Day 6 Usual 0

The log shipper failed to start 6 times after an install, because a folder it writes to was missing. While it was down, no new log lines reached our log store.

  3. 3 mcp-calls

    papers

    Day 82 Usual 6

One tool got 82 calls against about 6 on a usual day. Nothing failed; a jump like this is a new user, a loop in someone's agent, or a page that changed.

The watch, key and counts come from our own daily digest for 2026-10-09, built on our server from our live tools; the long key in item 2 is shortened. The plain-word line under each is what a note to your team adds.

How it works

  1. Connect read-only

Give us a log drain or log API, a read-only token for your error tool such as Sentry, a read-only Postgres role, and our GitHub App. In the first week we connect each source by hand with you.

  2. Read one note at 08:00

Every number is compared with its own last 28 days. The note names up to 3 odd things, says what was checked, and links the full table. We also probe your public pages, because some failures never reach your logs.

  3. Review the fix

When the cause is clear, you get a draft pull request: what we saw, why it is wrong, the cause and the fix, small enough to review in 10 minutes. A person on our side reads it first.

0 USD for the first 30 days

Today Oddwatch watches only our own live tools. The first 3 outside teams get the monthly watch free for 30 days. In return, you tell us each week which lines in the note were true and which were noise, in a 15-minute call or by email.

After 30 days you choose to stay at 490 USD per month or to stop. Nothing renews by itself.

How to buy

  1. Press a button above. Our order form opens with your choice filled in. Add your stack and where your logs live.
  2. A person replies in writing within 1 business day with the start date and what access we need. You pay nothing yet.

We take orders from teams in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Germany. Prices are in USD.

Why 490 USD

No team pays this price yet. It is our launch price, and we will review it after the first paying teams. Here is what it is set against.

Published prices for a team of 7 engineers, read from each vendor's pricing page on 2026-10-19. On a phone, the table scrolls sideways.

Oddwatch costs more than Sentry with Seer for 7 engineers because it reads your logs and database too, and a person checks every fix before you see it. It costs less than Cleric Team, which bills its investigations in credits.

What it costs us to run: model use for one note and up to 3 investigations a day is about 2 to 5 USD per day, so 60 to 150 USD per team per month. On top of that come a small share of our server and the hours a person spends reading each pull request. That is our own estimate, not a measured figure yet.

Why 1,000 USD for the setup and first sweep

Here is what buyers paid for one-off production work. The Upwork posts were read on 2026-10-10, and a post can close later.

The sweep is priced at the low end of the two fixed-price production jobs above, and it adds up to 3 fix pull requests. What it costs us: about 30 to 75 USD in model use, the same as 15 days of the monthly watch, plus the hours a person spends connecting your sources and reading each pull request. That is our own estimate.

What we can and cannot touch

Read-only roles

The database role can only SELECT, and only on the tables you grant. The error tool token has read scope only. We never ask for a cloud console login or a production deploy key.

Your data goes into one separate store for your team, on a dedicated server we rent from OVH. We keep 28 days, the window the comparison needs, and delete it when you leave.

The agent that looks into a finding runs on Claude through the Anthropic API. Anthropic does not train its models on API data by default.

A GitHub App that only opens pull requests

The app asks for pull requests (write), contents (write) and metadata (read). Contents access means it can read the code in the repositories you choose, and push branches there. It only pushes branches it creates, named oddwatch/..., and never merges. GitHub cannot enforce that naming, so turn on branch protection for your default branch.

Every pull request is a draft that a person on our side has read. Remove the app at any time from your GitHub settings. Send us your security questions before you grant any access; we answer them in writing.

Talk to us

Use the order form: tell us your stack, where your logs live and what broke last month. Or email support@openkrill.app. A person replies within 1 business day, Monday to Friday. We send no automatic emails and add nobody to a list.

Frequently asked questions

How do I pay, and from which countries?

We confirm your order in writing within 1 business day, then send a PayPal invoice: 490 USD at the start of each month, or 1,000 USD once for the setup and first sweep. Or you pay by escrow on Upwork or Deel. We take orders from teams in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Germany. From another country, we reply within 48 hours to say we cannot take the order, and you pay nothing.

What does the setup and first sweep include?

We connect your sources read-only, read the last 30 days of your logs, errors and database counts, and send a written report on what looked odd and why. When the cause is clear, you get up to 3 draft fix pull requests. It takes up to 5 business days after you give read access. You can stop there, or go on to the monthly watch with the sources already connected.

Will the first week be noisy?

Probably. Each number is compared with its own last 28 days, and the first note can flag things that are normal for you. You tell us which lines were noise, and we tune the checks each week. A noisy note beats hearing about a failure from a customer.

Who writes and reviews the fix pull requests?

An agent reads your data and your code and drafts the change. A person on our side reads every pull request before it is opened on your repository. Your team reviews and merges it, or closes it.

What if we have more than 10 engineers, or need more than 8 pull requests?

Tell us on the form. We quote a larger team in writing before you pay anything. In a month past 8 pull requests, each further finding still goes in the note with its cause. We draft the fix only if you ask.

Why not Sentry Seer or Datadog Bits?

They are good inside their own data. Oddwatch puts your logs, your error tool and your business tables in one place, so one check can ask whether signups dropped while no error fired. The price is flat per team, not per seat or per investigation.

Can we stop at any time?

Yes. Each month is paid by its own invoice, and you can tell us to stop before the next one. When you stop, we turn off the watch and delete your data. After a free design-partner month, you choose to start at 490 USD per month or to stop.
