Agent Tools vs Smithery, Composio and Apify
Agent Tools by OpenKrill is a set of free hosted MCP servers that read live public data, with no sign-up and no key. Smithery, Composio and Apify solve nearby problems in other ways. We read each one's own pricing and docs pages on 19 October 2026. The sources are at the end.
The short answer
- Pick Agent Tools when your assistant needs live public facts, such as CVEs, job listings, app reviews or holidays, and you want to connect in one step with no account.
- Pick Smithery to find and connect many third-party MCP servers, with sign-in handled for you.
- Pick Composio when the agent must act inside your own apps, such as Gmail, Slack or GitHub.
- Pick Apify to scrape or automate almost any website with a ready-made program.

Smithery joined Arcade.dev on 5 August 2026, so its plans may change. Prices are monthly, in US dollars, before tax.
Where Agent Tools falls short
- It reads public data only. It can't send an email, post a message or change anything in your accounts. Composio does that.
- The catalog is smaller than Smithery's registry or Apify's store. If no tool fits, ask for one with the
submit_feedbacktool on any server. - There is no self-serve paid plan, so for higher volume you'll need to email support@openkrill.app.
