Questions it answers

Ask about open jobs at the companies you care about and get the current list straight from their public careers boards.

Ask "what jobs is Stripe hiring for?", "is Notion hiring designers?", "remote backend jobs at Ramp, Linear and Supabase" or "which Spotify jobs list a salary?".

Company Jobs Finder reads the public job boards that companies publish on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters.

It can narrow the list by keyword, location, remote work, department, posting date and posted salary, and it links each job to its application page.

It looks up companies by name, up to five at a time. Companies whose careers pages run on other systems are reported as not found.

It can also help you pick and pitch for the right ones. Give it the kind of role you want, your recent titles, level, years, skills and where you would work, and it ranks the open jobs at up to three companies by how well their titles, level, skills and location match, with the reasons and the gaps for each. For one job it lists the must-haves, nice-to-haves, level signals and stated hiring process, plus a checklist for tailoring your resume to it, based on general recruiter practice.

You can also check your own profile text against the words recruiters search for. Paste your headline and About section, name the roles you want or one job, and it shows which typical title, skill and tool terms your text has and lacks, an example search string, and tips for writing the headline and About section as a career story. It never reads LinkedIn or any site: you paste the text.

The ranking is a rule-based match against the public postings, not a prediction of whether you will be hired. It never writes your resume: your assistant does that from the facts it returns.

It stores nothing about you: answers about jobs are cached for up to two hours, what you tell it about yourself is used only while it answers and is never cached or kept, and the only lasting record is a daily count of calls per tool.

Tools

  • find_company_jobs, Find company jobs and careers. Best for: open jobs at named companies, such as "jobs at Stripe", "is Notion hiring designers?" or "remote backend jobs at Ramp and Linear". Covers careers pages on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters; other companies come back as not_found. Returns: per company, each job's title, locations, workplace type, salary when published, posting date, a short summary and the applyUrl. Call this first when you need a job's exact title or applyUrl for the other tools. Input tips: send companies as the user says them or as careers page links, 1 to 5, such as {"companies": ["Stripe"], "keyword": "designer"}. Optional filters: keyword, location, remote, department, postedSince (YYYY-MM-DD), withSalary. Not for: looking up people at a company, applying to a job, or companies on other systems (point the user to the company's own careers page).
  • rank_jobs_for_profile, Rank company jobs for profile. Best for: which open jobs at up to 3 companies suit the user, such as "which jobs at Ramp fit a senior backend engineer with 7 years of Go?". Returns: jobs ranked best first, each with a score, a fit of strong, possible or weak, a levelFit verdict (match, step_up, stretch, step_down), whyFit reasons, gaps and the applyUrl, plus one boards entry per company. Input tips: send companies and targetTitles, such as {"companies": ["Ramp"], "targetTitles": ["Backend Engineer"]}. Add recentTitles, level, yearsExperience, skills, locations and openToRemote only when the user gave them; never guess. Not for: listing every job at a company (use find_company_jobs) or the facts of one known job (use job_fit_brief).
  • job_fit_brief, Brief on one job and tailor resume. Best for: the facts of one posting, such as "what does the senior backend job at Stripe require?" or "how should I tailor my resume for this role?". It reads the posting only, never the user's own text. Returns: must-haves, nice-to-haves, the level and the words that signal it, terms to mirror, years asked, location, the process and referral facts the posting states, and a short resume tailoring checklist. If the job is not found, it returns job_not_found with the closest open titles. Input tips: send company and job, such as {"company": "Stripe", "job": "Senior Backend Engineer"}. The job is the applyUrl or exact title; call find_company_jobs first if you do not know either. Not for: checking the user's own profile or resume text against a job (use profile_keyword_check).
  • profile_keyword_check, Check recruiter and LinkedIn profile keywords. Best for: LinkedIn profile and resume keywords recruiters search. Checks the user's own pasted headline, About or resume text, such as "does my profile have the right keywords for backend jobs?" or "what words am I missing for this job?". Returns: per role, the title, skill, tool and seniority words present or missing, an example boolean search string and whether the text matches it, and tips for the headline and About section. Input tips: send profileText (headline on the first line) plus targetTitles OR company and job, never both, such as {"profileText": "...", "targetTitles": ["Senior Backend Engineer"]}. For a job you do not know exactly, call find_company_jobs first for its applyUrl. Not for: reading a LinkedIn link or any site (ask the user to paste the text) or the facts of a job alone (use job_fit_brief).

Add Company Jobs Finder in VS Code

VS Code reads MCP servers from mcp.json and offers their tools to Copilot Chat in Agent mode. A workspace file at .vscode/mcp.json applies to that project. For every workspace, run MCP: Open User Configuration from the Command Palette and add the same entry there. These steps were checked against the VS Code MCP servers guide on 2026-10-09.

Create or edit the file so it contains this server. VS Code uses a top-level servers object, not mcpServers. Merge it with servers you already have.

{
  "servers": {
    "company-jobs": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://jobs.openkrill.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

No command, no headers and no input variables for a key: Company Jobs Finder answers without a login. Save the file and select Start above the entry. VS Code asks once whether you trust the server: confirm it. Run MCP: List Servers to check that Company Jobs Finder is running. You should see find_company_jobs, rank_jobs_for_profile, job_fit_brief, profile_keyword_check.

Open the Chat view, choose Agent mode and ask: What jobs is Stripe hiring for right now? The Configure Tools button in the chat input lists the tools of each server, and VS Code may ask you to confirm the first call. The server is public and read-only. It sees only the arguments of each call, so do not paste secrets into the question.

Command line users can add it to the user profile in one step with code --add-mcp and the same name, type and url as JSON. The portable .mcp.json at the project root also works in VS Code, with mcpServers as its top-level key. An organization can turn MCP off through Copilot policy: if the MCP commands are missing, ask the admin.

If it does not work

The tool does not show up

Run MCP: List Servers, select the server and choose Restart. If it shows an error, choose Show Output to read the log. Check that the entry sits under servers with "type": "http", and that Chat is in Agent mode, where MCP tools are offered.

429 or rate_limited

Each server takes 60 calls a minute from one network, and some tools take fewer. Past that the call comes back as a tool error that starts with rate_limited: wait a minute and ask again. daily_limit means the server reached its shared daily cap, which resets at 00:00 UTC. A limit is not an answer, so do not read it as no results. For higher limits, ask support@openkrill.app for a key.

JSON entry has no type

Claude Code skips an entry in .mcp.json that has a url but no type. Add "type": "http" next to the url, or add the server with claude mcp add --transport http, which writes the type for you. The VS Code entry needs the same type field. Cursor and Pi read the url alone.

A call checked on 2026-10-17

Stripe publishes on a public Greenhouse board, which is one of the five boards this plugin reads. The request below was posted to https://jobs.openkrill.app/mcp as tools/call. HTTP 200. Source: the Company Jobs Finder server, read 2026-10-17.

{

  }
}
  • companies. 1 returned
  • companies status. ok

Repeat the call yourself if you need a newer reading. Cached answers expire. A rate limit is not a result: wait and try again. Nothing in the call is a ranking, a filing, or advice.

Using it in production

Nothing to install and nothing to run: no package, no Python or Node.js version and no environment variable. Company Jobs Finder runs on our servers, and your client only needs the URL https://jobs.openkrill.app/mcp.

Daily cap5000 tool calls a day per server, shared by every caller. It resets at 00:00 UTC.
At a limitThe call comes back as a tool error that starts with rate_limited (wait a minute) or daily_limit (try after 00:00 UTC), never as a partial answer.
KeyNone. Do not add an Authorization header or a key field.
