What you get
- Every reference looked up in Crossref, OpenAlex and the DOI system with our Citation Checker tool, then read by a person.
- A verdict for each one: found, wrong detail (a DOI that points to another paper, a wrong year, title or author list) or not found, which often means an invented citation, for example one written by a chatbot.
- Retracted papers and papers with an expression of concern or a correction, flagged with the notice date.
- A corrected reference list in your style (APA, Vancouver, IEEE, Harvard or BibTeX), with the right DOI added where one exists.
- Books, reports and web pages that the scholarly indexes miss are checked by hand against the publisher or the page.
- One re-check of your corrected list after you edit it, included in the price.
Good to know
Send the reference list as plain text, a .bib or .ris file, a Word file or a PDF when you reply to the quote.
We check that each reference exists and that its details are right. We do not read the papers, judge whether a source supports your claim, or edit your text. Your document is used only for the check and deleted after delivery.
