Stillchat
Stillchat is a free iPhone and iPad app that controls the AI coding agents on your own Mac. Pair once by QR code, then approve, reject and steer each agent from your phone. Your code and your sign-ins stay on the Mac.
What it does
- Run
stillchat-runner pairon the Mac and scan the QR code. The code works once and for 10 minutes. - You use the subscriptions you already have. Claude Code and Codex use the account their own CLI is signed in to. ChatGPT uses your OpenAI account, and OpenRouter uses your OpenRouter key, which also serves Grok.
- When a Claude Code agent wants to write a file or run a command, the Inbox shows the diff or the command and waits for you to approve or reject it. Nothing changes on the Mac until you decide.
- To steer a live run, type a line and the agent reads it before its next step. Stop ends the run at once.
- Messages are end-to-end encrypted. Our relay only passes sealed messages it can't open, and it holds them for up to 7 days if the Mac is asleep.

What we measured
On 19 October 2026 we ran the runner against the real Claude Code CLI on a Mac, driven by a test phone client. A phone paired with the runner in 0.36 seconds. A file write reached the Inbox as a request 3.85 seconds after the run started, and rejecting it kept the file from being written. The iPhone app passed the same pairing check in the simulator, within 5 seconds.

Will an agent change my files without asking?
A Claude Code agent asks before it writes a file or runs a command, and waits in the Inbox for you to approve or reject. Codex runs read-only and changes nothing.
Can OpenKrill read my code or my prompts?
No. Messages between the phone and the Mac are end-to-end encrypted, and the relay only passes sealed messages. The Stillchat privacy page lists what leaves your devices.
What happens when my Mac is asleep or offline?
Messages wait in the relay for up to 7 days and arrive when the Mac is back. Check that stillchat-runner status says the runner is running.
How is Stillchat different from Claude Code Remote Control?
Remote Control works with Claude Code only and needs a paid Claude plan. Stillchat is free, works with four agent sources and states end-to-end encryption.
